Ch. 51 - The Goddess and the Green Guy

My computer was well and truly fried after sending Jovan's mother on wild ride through space.  I did my best to repair it but if replacing my computer was what it cost to keep her out of the way for the foreseeable future it was worth it.

Jovan had been staying in touch and we had gone out on a few dates when his work schedule allowed.  He had been serious about my space rock collection and had taken three that he couldn't identify into the science lab with him.  As it turned out they were never before seen elements, Jovan and his co-workers were working hard to discover all their properties.

Allia had done well with her pregnancy and gave birth to a beautiful foal we named Baron.

"Congratulations on another strong young steed Sutter my sweet."

Jovan came over to see our new arrival and to share some exciting news after work.

"Aphrodite I got a promotion and a huge pay raise thanks to those space rocks you gave me.  Would you like to go out to dinner with me to celebrate?"

"Of course I will.  You've really worked hard these past few weeks to earn that promotion congratulations Jovan."

"There's something else I wanted to tell you," Jovan said excitedly before leaning in for a kiss that was out of this world.  "I want to try to have a baby with you.  I think that what you are trying to do for those cursed spirits is amazing and I want to help you reach your goal."

After a wonderful dinner at the bistro Jovan and I sat in the garden to stargaze.

"You never did ask me about your mother," I said surprising him.

"After our last encounter I decided to cut her out of my life completely.  She was my mother only in terms of my genetic makeup.  My real family is in Monte Vista and the wrath of you gods is literally legend.  I thought it was best to know as little as possible."

I laughed remembering how impulsive we were in the old days.  "I'm not nearly as dramatic as I used to be I promise."

"With some help from my daughter I was able to plot a new course for her ship.  She'll be taking a very round about trip back to that home planet of hers."

"Its that little star right there to the left.  Do you think you'll ever want to go there to meet your people despite how she was?"

"No, the Earth is my home and I'm happy exactly where I am."

Ch. 50 - Out of Place in Outer Space

Jovan rang the temple bell and waited anxiously for an answer.  After all this time his alien mother was still monitoring him from a distance and abducting people.  He wondered if he had other siblings around the globe or on some far off alien world considering what she did to some of her test subjects on that ship of hers.

The first meeting Jovan had with his biological mother was in college where she'd freaked out his housemates by beaming him right out of the backyard during a keg party.  The visit from his mother hadn't been the cozy hallmark moment he envisioned.  She'd probed him, said his development was satisfactory despite his being raised by humans and made it very clear that if the home planet had need of him she would take him whether he wanted to go or not.

Now she was back threatening life as he knew it just when he'd landed his dream researching job at Surpentine Labs in Sunlit Tides.  After snatching him from his bed in the middle of the night and probing him yet again, she proclaimed him fit for procreation.

"You are to present yourself for breeding purposes to the being known as Aphrodite," his mother told him dispassionately as she scanned data on the many holo screens.

Jovan's mind had boggled at the order since he couldn't move while on the probing table.  "Who?! What!?  Why would I do something like that?"  Of course Jovan knew who Aphrodite was, she was the most famous supernatural in Sunlit Tides and cured zombies with light blasts from her bare hands.  He just couldn't imagine proposing such a thing to a total stranger even though it was common knowledge that said stranger wanted to have one hundred children.  It just wasn't wise to proposition some one who could set you on fire with a flick of their finger.

"You will do this or become a specimen of study on the home world.  The human ability to multiply their numbers so quickly is fascinating to our scientists.  We have learned much from you hybrids despite your short life spans and your many emotions but my equipment is very limited on such a small vessel.  I could take you to our home planet for further study with the proper machines,"  Jovan's mother had smiled as he shivered helplessly on the examination table.  "Or I could go back alone on my long long journey through space to make a scientific break through with a small amount of DNA from the offspring you have the with being known as Aphrodite.  Deciphering the genetic material would take so long it would be unlikely for us to ever meet again in your lifetime."

Jovan had then understood why has family had tried so hard to keep his mother away from him when he was growing up.  She was unfeeling and willing to use him as a tool for her own means.  "I will try get her to like me but I can't make her accept me as a father candidate."

"That is all I ask son," the alien had replied before dropping him off at the Temple of Love.

I was busy doing more alien research on the computer when the bell rang.  Since the sun was just starting to rise I thought about letting Bonehilda answer the door to give the visitor a little scare but I decided against it.

I needed a little stretch after spending time on the computer anyway.   As it turned out my visitor was a nervous green young man.

"Good morning your highness..err my lady I...I mean Ms. Goddess," stammered Jovan.  He'd known she was beautiful from her pictures but in person she was just...Wow.

"Please call me Aphrodite.  And you are?"  My alien visitor wasn't what I expected but I found his nervousness a little cute.

"Right" he said nervously.  "My name is Jovan Radford and I couldn't help but notice your collection of space rocks."

"Jovan would you like to come inside?"  Jovan seemed anxious and kept looking up at the sky.

"You are not the alien who has been abducting people on the island and you're not really interested in my rock collection are you Jovan?"

Jovan's shoulders slumped in relief.  "Actually I just got a research position at the lab and would love to study some of them but you are right.  I'm not the one abducting people, its my mother."  Jovan then told me about his experience with his mother and what she wanted from him.

He and I discussed the subject well into the afternoon until the children arrived home from school with a few friends.

This is Juanna, Blasius's second daughter of his three girls.  The children love being in the same classes as their nieces and nephews.

After doing homework they enjoyed a nice play date together playing tag and having fun in the tree house.

Genio took care of the unicorns since Gene and Genia were a little leery of my guest.

They had both been abducted a few times by Jovan's mother and wanted to stay near by.  I found the gesture endearing but after hearing about her I planned on taking care of the female alien myself.

"Jovan I very much appreciate your honesty with me today so I am going to be honest with you as well.  I like you and would like to get to know you better.  It would make me very happy if you would consider being one of my father candidates of your own free will.  Though you must know that I have to do something about that mother of yours.  I've no doubt that she would have me on that ship if she could."

"Yeah I thought the same myself.  Since she can't have you as a test subject she's after the next best thing which is your DNA mixed with that of a human's and her alien species.  Listen today has been the longest day of my life and have a lot of thing to think about.  Can I get back to you after I've had a little time to think things through?"

"Of course take all the time you need Jovan."

Ch. 49 - The Visitor

Our little foal Fireball grew into a magnificent unicorn.  I've made sure insurance has stayed up to date to cover occasional damage done by a stray magical blast so the temple is well covered in case Fireball decides to live up to his name.

Allia has not been acting herself as of late so the elves are keeping an eye on her and giving her extra attention.

"Not feeling too well again today are you Allia?  That's okay a nice relaxing brushing will make you feel better."

Hesper and Helios are doing very well in school thanks to their vampire powers and have made a new friend.

This little blue fairy is Mira, Kelly's daughter.  My first great granddaughter is such a sweet girl, I just love how she calls me Gigi.  Great grandma Aphrodite is just not a befitting title for me no matter how accurate it may be.

The children had a ball playing dress up with Mira.  I was glad the old costume box was getting some use after being in the nursery for so long.

Hesper was a beautiful princess in purple.  My little vampire princess gives such a regal princess wave.

And Helios was a handsome prince in blue.  Helicia didn't join in on the games preferring to tend to Allia.  Helicia enjoyed quite time alone and was very fond of animals.  I was contemplating getting her a small pet of her very own.

It was Genia who discovered what was ailing our Allia one sunny morning.

"I felt a little kick from Allia's belly while I was brushing her this morning.  I'm pretty sure were going to have another unicorn running around guys."

My unicorns were expanding their family and I intended to do the same.  I was out searching for more space rocks when I came across this lovely catalina macaw.

I brought the bird home to Helicia later that evening.  She adored him and named him Oliver.

"He is such a pretty bird.  Thank you so much mom!"

"Here you go Oliver a nice bowl of yummy bird seed."

Helios liked Oliver as well, a little too much in fact.  I had to scold him for trying to make a snack of poor Oliver when his thirst got the better of him.

"We do not snack on our pets in this house young man!  Now I want you to go down stairs and have a plasma pack to get yourself under control.  Then I want you to apologize to your sister."

"This stuff isn't so bad.  I hope Helicia isn't too mad at me."

Helios managed to make up with Helica and all was quite in the temple again until an early visitor came to call.

A Note from Mellowyellow:
Hello my fellow Sim fans!  I've been away doing some crafting and playing with the new store content that recently came out.  I see that the blog has gotten over 6500 views and that is just so incredibly awesome. Thank you all for taking time to look at Aphrodite's story.  Here are some pictures I wanted to share since this is a short update.

This is the crochet blanket I recently finished the Spring Breeze baby blanket by Leisure Arts.

This is the Ambrosia Bakery a small bakery I built for my favorite sim couple Trinity and Ethan Ambrose in Sunlit Tides.  I love the one from the store but it is just too big and gets to be a hassle to run once all the townies start crowding behind the display cases.

The register and display cases.  I got the Edwardian Expression Kitchen Set along with the garden and bakery sets and I'm so glad I did!  The kitchen and the bakery set just look sooo good together.

Trinity started baking as soon as she got to the lot.  This is why she is one of my favorite sims and the reason I've played her for years. Trinity always uses what I build for her without me prompting her to.

A side view of the inside eating and sitting areas.

A behind the counter view of the bakery.

Ethan helping his wife stock up the bakery.  Trinity and Ethan (yep the Ethan Bunch) met in Sunset Valley when I revisited the town when the seasons expansion came out.  When he became a young adult he sent Trinity love letters all the time and so many gifts that she did not have to work and had enough cash to do a remodel on her starter home.  If the crazy amount of gifts he set was a glitch it was a happy one because these two cannot get enough of each other.

Here is their daughter Trista tending the register.  She is the 13th out of Trinity and Ethan's 15 children together.  See what I mean when I said they can't get enough of each other?  These two sims are so wonderful I pretty much play according to their wishes and they love having babies together.  Well that is the end of the bakery tour thanks for viewing and happy simming!!
